DIY: Coral and Aqua Bathroom Makeover

I’m sharing my coral and aqua bathroom makeover as part of a sponsored post for Olympic and The Motherhood. #Bringonthecolor

Master Bathroom Before and After

Remember the master bathroom mood board I shared a couple months ago? With some help from the Olympic® Paint Visualizer tool, I was able to FINALLY pick a color for my bathroom! With the Paint Visualizer tool, I was able to load a photo of my bathroom and play around with color. I then headed to the Olympic Paints and Stains Color Center at Lowe’s to check out the color in person. You can purchase a paint sample for a small fee, which I highly recommend! It is so helpful to see a small portion of the paint up on the wall, before committing to a color.

While I was at Lowe’s, I learned about their Paint Pledge Program: Paint with Confidence. If you are unhappy with your paint (for any reason), you can bring back in your paint in its original container within 30 days for a refund! This is valid on interior and exterior liquid paint purchases (4/3/16-8/9/16). I felt so much better about committing to a color after that info! Drum roll, I went with Olympic’s Tropical Dream, an aqua/mint color. The photos make it look like a baby blue, but it’s much more mint in person and I adore it! No painters remorse here.

You can see my before photos above. Aside from a few ugly candle sconces, my master bathroom had never been decorated. It was the place I sought relaxation and solace, but it was far from relaxing or comforting. I’m entering a new stage of motherhood, minus the bottles and diapers and sleepless nights (thank goodness). I feel like mothers, especially, give up so much of themselves during the baby years and for good reason. It felt good being able to create something, just for me. I highly recommend that too. Plus, I need a peaceful place to escape to now that we’re entering the toddler years. Bubble baths help.

It’s amazing how one little can of paint can completely transform the feel of an entire room! Goodbye builder beige, hello color! A nice, relaxing, minty color that I love! I stayed pretty true to my mood board and did so on a tight budget. Greenery is a must for me when I want a room to feel homey, so I made sure to add a few succulents to the space. I recommend shopping your space for items that you might be able to pull into your room, like I did with the white accent table. It now holds my books by some of my favorite author/blog friends. Candles and pretty soap/lotion dispensers are also an affordable way to add to the decor. I love my new and improved space, thanks Olympic!
